LVXP, a local development firm, is planning to construct a massive luxury resort in Las Vegas, which could potentially become the tallest development in the city. The project will include a 2,500-room luxury resort alongside a sports arena boasting up to 20,000 seats. This ambitious venture is set to replace the former Wet ‘n Wild waterpark located at 2601 South Las Vegas Boulevard.
Shifting Plans and Ambitions
The proposed project marks a departure from previous plans outlined by former NBA player Jackie Robinson for the All Net Resort & Arena, which was halted after a denial by the Clark County Commission. LVXP's vision for a larger resort and potential NBA franchise represents a significant shift in focus.
Scale and Design
Preliminary plans for LVXP's resort feature a 2,500-room hotel and casino complex that could reach heights of nearly 1,200 feet, surpassing existing structures on the Las Vegas Strip. The resort's centerpiece will be an NBA-ready sports and entertainment arena, designed by local firm Steelman Partners, with seating for 18,500 to 20,000 spectators.
Comprehensive Amenities
In addition to the arena and hotel, the development will incorporate various amenities such as convention facilities, a shopping plaza, and restaurants showcasing local culinary talent. The project also includes provisions for sustainable development and green initiatives, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility.
Logistics and Timeline
Led by James Frasure Jr., LVXP aims to navigate permitting processes with Clark County, with plans to commence construction later this year or in early 2025. Nick Tomasino, LVXP's chief construction officer, brings experience from overseeing projects like the Sphere in New York. The site acquisition was completed in January, though details regarding the purchaser remain undisclosed.
Experienced Partners
LVXP has enlisted the expertise of Steelman Partners, a renowned architectural firm with a portfolio spanning global casino-resort destinations. With a track record of successful projects, including notable developments in Las Vegas and internationally, LVXP is positioned to execute its ambitious vision for the city's skyline.
